As summer begins to soften into fall, I find myself looking back with a lot of gratitude.If spring was a season of new beginnings, summer was a season of embracing family, fun, and unique experiences. Last quarter, I shared some of the spring happenings here at WildheartLeads—our annual Open House, a connective weekend alongside Wildfire Soul Revival, A Hero’s Journey with Horses (Youth Edition), and Prom Gone Wrong, a joint event with some dear friends where we let loose, dressed up, hit the trail, shared a meal, and danced the night away. We also had the wonderful opportunity to welcome our local DAC for a day of togetherness—simply being together, being ourselves, and enjoying the horses, the farm, and each other. Summer continued that spirit in its own beautiful way. A small group of women gatherer monthly to connect, reflect, and walk away with an individualized, hand-crafted “gift” to themselves. Not just something tangible to take home, but a shift in perspective. A little more grace. A little more love and light. ( More group opportunities coming soon! - Mom’s, Entrepreneurs? These summer months have held some really meaningful moments here at the farm. Individuals showed up for themselves—many ready to finally let go of something they had been carrying. Again and again, I heard some version of: “This was nothing like I expected.” The work of Equine Gestalt® can be difficult to explain until you experience it. There is something about stepping away from the noise, being present with a horse, and having the space to truly listen to what is happening within you. I watched people leave feeling lighter. They found peace.
They found calm.
They found joy. And perhaps most importantly, they honored themselves by simply showing up. Rhythm & RideOne of my favorite parts of summer is the annual Rhythm & Ride at the Clearwater County Fair. This year, I'll admit, I wondered if Rhythm & Ride was something I would need to let go. I questioned whether I was really the right person to keep this unique little show going. I OVERTHOUGHT it. And then, thankfully, I realized something: Rhythm & Ride is perfect AS IS. It doesn't need to be bigger. It doesn't need to be different. It simply needs to continue being what it has always been. It IS horses.
It IS music.
It IS creativity.
It IS community.
It IS laughter, connection, and people coming together to simply enjoy the moment. And it is NOT about being the best.
It is NOT about perfection.
It is NOT about proving yourself or your horse. (Or anyone else!) It is a celebration of the relationship between people, horses, and the simple joy of doing something a little different. And I think that's worth celebrating. Rhythm & Ride will continue next year at the 4-H Arena during the Clearwater County Fair! More details to come—but for now, I'm simply grateful I didn't overthink myself right out of something so special. Looking Toward Fall…As the seasons change, so does the invitation.
